Mashreq University participate at the African Universities Conference
The annual conference of African Universities Union was held in Ghanaian capital of Accra under the title "Africa that we want… and the role of youth". The Union invited Dr. Omar Haj Ali, the president of Mashreq University to participate at the conference, who appointed Dr. Isam Al-Zain, the Dean of Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty to attend on his behalf.
The Minister of Higher Education of Ghana, Mr. Matthew Abuko, addressed the opening session, which included numerous seminars, meetings, exhibitions and field visits to three universities.
During the conference, Dr Alzin gave a seminar entitled "the Association of the African Universities and the Higher Education in Africa" , in which he pointed out that the association can play a significant role in the development of the higher education in the continent. The can be achieved by activating the systems of visiting professors, by filling the shortages through the staff exchange programs, and by benefiting from the regional and international aid in order to improve the outputs of the education system. This is besides linking the Universities to the labor market, which will enhance the economical development in Africa, and eventually leads to the Africa we want, a continent that is free from poverty, disease and ignorance.
A number of the representatives of African universities expressed their admiration for Mashreq University, and showed great interest in sending their students to continue their postgraduate studies at the University.
